The International Fiscal Association (IFA) was established in 1938 in The Hague (Netherlands) and since has grown to become the global tax association with around 13,000 members from 116 countries. IFA organizes its well-known global annual Congress with the publications of its corresponding “Cahiers”. IFA also delivers several awards through its Young IFA Network (YIN) and Women of IFA Network (WIN). In recent years, however, the scientific activities of IFA have continued to substantially increase with, notably, its annual webinar series and the forthcoming creation of “focus groups” in selected areas of international and comparative tax law. In light of these new projects, the Permanent Scientific Committee (PSC) of IFA is looking for a
Freelance Scientific Associate
who would like to add some experience to his/her current work in international tax, and who can assist the PSC with the development and planning of its current and future scientific activities
The Associate will work closely with the Chair of the PSC, Professor Robert Danon and the IFA Secretariat, located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The work will mostly be done through online means. The tasks consist mainly but not exclusively of:
Although most of the work is intended to be done online, a physical meeting with the Chair and/or Vice Chairs of the PSC will be organized at least twice a year in a convenient location.

Candidates with an academic background in taxation, particularly international taxation, some work experience and a working knowledge of English and one or (preferably) two other languages. Where and when?
The position is for a period of six months, ideally beginning in August and ending January/February of the following year. Candidates applying for this position must be able to make themselves available full-time for the entire period. Depending the developments of the pandemic, the position will most likely be filled in by remote working.
Stipend
The remuneration for the position depends on the individual's qualifications and the period during which he or she will be able to work. In addition, the expenses of attending the Annual IFA Congress and the January/February 2023 meeting of the PSC will be covered. In view of the continuing uncertainty due to the worldwide health situation, full and concrete details also with a view to its congress format for the 2022 Congress will follow at a later stage once more is known on future developments and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
