Registration for the IFA 2026 Melbourne Congress is open. Please note that you need a valid credit or debit card (Mastercard, Visa or American Express) to complete your online registration. Hotel reservations, social events and tours will be processed on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis, where relevant. Please register as soon as possible to secure your accommodation in Melbourne.

All fees are in AUD (Australian dollars) and include the current GST in Australia (10%) when applicable.

-Australian resident clients (individuals or businesses) who are NOT Australian-based business recipient and are NOT registered for GST.
Group B
-Australian resident clients (individuals or businesses) who meet the definition of “Australian-based business recipient” and are registered for GST. Must be registered for GST, qualify as an “Australian-based business recipient,” and acquire the service for business purposes.

The Congress materials and documents will be readable and downloadable on the Congress App. Congress sessions’ recordings will be made available only to IFA members within 4 weeks following the end of the Congress via the secured section of the Global IFA website. We encourage you to become an IFA member (www.ifa.nl).

An accompanying person is a participant’s spouse, partner, or other personal relation who does not have a business or scientific interest in the Congress. Children under 18 are welcome to register as an accompanying person, but the YIN Party is not suitable for those under 18.

Once the registration process and payment have been done, you will receive an email confirmation with all details and payment status and a valid invoice in a separate email message. The invoice will be sent approx.7 days after registration. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that all details are correct. Please, contact the registration team immediately should you identify any errors or have any questions.
Participants and accompanying persons will be able to collect their name badge and Congress bag, when applicable, at the Registration desk located in the entrance hall of the Congress venue, MCEC-Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, upon arrival starting Sunday, 18 October morning (time to be announced).
Any cancellation/modification should be sent in writing to the registration team. Reimbursements will be processed one month after the Congress. Please note that credit card companies do not return the credit card fees in case of reimbursement.
Cancellation policies for registration, functions, social events, and tours:
- Cancellations received before 18 July 2026 will be entitled to a refund of the amount paid except 100 AUD as management fee.
- Cancellations received on/from 18 July 2026 will not be entitled to a refund.
Cancellation policies for accommodation and reduction of nights:
- Any cancellation/modification should be sent in writing to the registration and housing team. Reimbursements will be processed after the Congress.
- Please note that hotels will not accept any changes directly.
- Cancellations received before 1 June 2026 will be entitled to a refund of the amount paid except 100 AUD as management fee per room. There will be no penalty for the reduction in the number of nights.
- Cancellations received before 3 August 2026 will be entitled to a refund of the amount paid except for 2 nights per room. There will be no penalty for the reduction in the number of nights.
- Cancellations received on/from 4 August 2026 will not be entitled to a refund. Reductions on nights are not refundable.
- In case of a no-show, the Organisation (Internationale Vereniging voor Belastingrecht/International Fiscal Association and IFA events and publications B.V. (collectively: IFA) and, where applicable, Bco Congresos) is legally authorized to charge the entire stay as initially booked.
- Name changes can be made at no additional cost if requested in writing to the registration team.
Liability/Insurance
All reasonable endeavours will be made to hold the 78th IFA 2026 Melbourne Congress as programmed. However, the Organisation has the right, for any reason beyond its control, to modify or cancel without prior notice, scientific sessions, social events or any of the arrangements, timetables, plans or other items of the Congress, including the entirety of the Congress. The Organisation will not assume indemnities or reimbursement of fees/deposits requested by participants in case of cancellation of the whole or part of the Congress at any point in time due to unforeseen or force majeure circumstances, such as a hurricane, flooding, earthquake, volcanic eruption, strike, riot, war, terrorism, pandemics, epidemics, etc. Neither the Organisation nor its officers, employees, representatives, or agents will be responsible for any loss, damage, expenditure, accident, harm or inconvenience caused to participants and their belongings, during or because of their participation in the Congress. Participants are advised to consider procuring their insurance against any such occurrences.
All the information required in the registration form must be provided to participate in the Congress. Any information processed in/with regards to the Congress App is used to enhance your Congress experience. Moreover, photographers and videographers will be present at the Congress to capture footage for (potential) promotional materials on behalf of IFA. This means that you may appear in Congress photos or videos to be published on the website, newsletters and social media accounts of IFA during or after the Congress.
All personal data provided in the registration form as well as Congress footage (photos/video) will be processed with the purpose to make all the necessary arrangements to organise, manage and host the Congress (including hotel reservations, invoicing, issuance of certificates of attendance), track participation in the Congress, market and communicate about the Congress and future events organised by IFA, manage and provide access to the Congress App, design the scientific content of the Congress, comply with competent authority or other statutory obligations, and create a Congress content database for IFA members, accessible via the secured section of IFA’s website.

Your personal data will be processed by IFA, including by its employees and members of its bodies and committees, and other persons engaged by IFA on a need-to-know basis. In particular, IFA uses the services of Professional Congress Organiser BCO CONGRESS, S.L., who will process your personal data on IFA’s behalf. In addition, your data may be processed for some or all of the aforementioned purposes by the local organizing committee of the Congress (local IFA Branch), chairs, secretaries and/or panel members of the Congress sessions, The Conference Company Ltd, M. Davis & Associates Consulting Limited and Conference Compass B.V..
As participant, you may withdraw your consent and exercise your rights of access, rectification, removal, and objection by contacting the above-mentioned postal address or via email [email protected]. If you have a concern about the way IFA has handled your personal data, you can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Participant list
Where you have given your consent to be included in the participant list to be shared with the sponsors/exhibitors, the respective sponsor/exhibitor and IFA will act as joint data controllers for such processing. Where the sponsor/exhibitor thereafter processes your personal data to invite you for the scientific and social events around the Congress, it shall process your personal data as an independent controller for its own purposes. Your personal data will be deleted by the sponsor/exhibitor ultimately on 31 December 2026.
QR code feature on the Congress App
During the Congress, exhibitors may request to scan the QR code on your Congress App. In doing so, the personal data that is included in your public profile will be exported to the exhibitor, and you will receive a connection request from the exhibitor in the Congress App. When accepted, your email address will also be exported to the exhibitor. The exhibitor may use this information to contact you during or after the Congress. For the exportation of your personal data to an exhibitor through this QR code feature, the respective exhibitor and IFA act as joint data controllers. For the processing of your personal data after it has been exported through this QR code feature, the exhibitor acts as an independent controller for its own purposes.
By allowing an exhibitor to scan the QR code in your Congress App, you consent to the export of your personal data included in your public profile to the exhibitor. If you accept the exhibitor’s connection request, you also consent to the export of your email address. You can freely choose to decline the exhibitor’s request to scan your QR code. Exhibitors cannot scan your QR code without your explicit consent.
Withdrawing your consent or exercising your data subject rights
To withdraw your consent, or to exercise your right of access, rectification, removal or objection for the processing of your personal data that is included in the participant list, you may contact IFA via the postal address mentioned above or via the email address [email protected]. If you have a concern about the way IFA has handled your personal data, you can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you wish to withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data exported through the QR code feature, please communicate this directly to the exhibitor. The exhibitor is then required to delete your collected personal data. You can also exercise your data subject rights by contacting sponsors/exhibitors directly.
