International Tax (T)Walk 2019

Invitation

We are delighted to welcome IFA members to participate in a three-day hike in the Swedish mountains with international tax colleagues. 

We will hike the so-called Jämtlandstriangeln, located between the mountain stations of Storulvån - Blåhammaren - Sylarna - Storulvån. The distance is 12 km - 16 km - 16 km. It is a relatively friendly hike with beautiful scenery. 

Participants will be asked to make a short presentation of around 15 minutes, e.g. on a current project, PhD-project, experience from international tax organisations, or anything that may provide food for thought and exchange of ideas. Presentations may, for instance, take place during a lunch break along the path or before or after dinner. 

Programme

11 August: Meet in Storulvån in the afternoon/evening of 11 August.

12 - 14 August: Hike

15 August: Travel from Storulvån in the morning. 

Practical details

The mountain stations have beds, showers, saunas and restaurants. The estimated cost for lodging is around 3200 SEK (€ 350) excluding meals and transportations. Lodging will be anything from twin rooms to larger rooms with four to five beds.

Further information on transportation etc. will be given to participants. There are trains from Stockholm or flights from Stockholm airport to Östersund, for onward transport with train or bus.
